Carved Pieces

My favorite tool in the shop is the scrollsaw. When I first asked my father for advice on using it, he painted a less than ideal picture; it's tedious, slow, and fairly limited compared to other tools. Despite his lack of enthusiasm, he encouraged me to try it out. Everything he said was right, but I fell in love anyways. It requires a lot of patience, incredible attention to detail, and a lot of time, but there is unlimited potential and, when done right, the final product can be breathtaking. This was the first woodworking tool I have ever purchased and will always be the centerpiece of my woodshop.

Pen and pencils

Since 2013, my father and I have a tradition of going to The Woodworking Show every January. At that first show, they had a "Learn to Turn a Pen!" lesson which I participated in. I had used a lathe numerous times, but never to turn a pen. The instructor said I picked it up the fastest of anyone he'd seen; little did he know it wasn't my first rodeo on the lathe. It was quick and quite satisfying to go from piece of wood to finish product in under an hour. With so many different types of pen and pencil kits available, writing utensils will always be a staple of my woodworking crafts.

Home Crafts

Wooden cutting boards are one of the most popular products I sell, and with good reason. With high quality hardwood, a beautiful (and food save!) finish, and a nice weight, they can instantly become the centerpiece and great talking point in your kitchen. Beyond cutting boards, I have crafted a wide selection of wooden kitchen supplies and furniture to use all around the house. Check out my collection of cutting boards, bowls, ice cream scoops, dressers, pizza cutters, wine bottle stoppers, tables, and more!

In May of 2016, I decided to buy the "Bob Ross Beginner Paint Set" after spending many months watching reruns of his TV show The Joy of Painting. Outside of elementary school art class, I had never painted, and my pencil drawings were always terrible, so expectations were low. I listened carefully to Bob's instructions and, to the surprise of my parents and I, my first painting wasn't half bad! From that day, I've taken a few painting classes, read a few books, and have continued to hone my new and exciting skill to what it is today. Although I no longer listen to The Joy of Painting when I paint, I will always attribute Bob and his encouragement as the reason for my painting success.

Circuits

At a young age, I used to constantly tinker with electronics, whether it was taking apart a TV, remote control, or broken microwave. I was told "if you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life." I chose to take my passion for electronics and turn it into a successful career as an Electrical and Computer Engineer. This knowledge has allowed me to take my tinkering to a whole new level designing and creating my own circuits.
